My name is Chlo Dawn, and I have always been an artist. My art was born from a love of simple moments, the ones that feel like home. After a decade long break from painting, I felt an overwhelming tug to pick up my paint brush again just before I became a mother. I naturally began painting a mother and a baby. The moments spent nursing my son in the wee hours of the night, painting this moment in hope to remember this feeling and not get lost in time. I felt called to capture these simple and powerful moments. As my days unfolded, painting mothers and families became my obsession. By some beautiful and unexpected viral storm, people started asking me to paint their families with my cinnamon roll arms. Family after family I now paint, and with each hand, each quilt star, pup and hug, I know better than before that this is my calling. Painting what love looks like to me.
As an artist, I also have a lifelong goal to create a homestead lifestyle one skill at a time. I love gardening, making marshmallows, knitting, woodworking, eating homemade popcorn, and watching my favorite movie, Little Women. I hope that my artwork brings a feeling of home as I live out my days mothering, growing, and painting my dreams into reality.
